I Close My Eyes

As I lay down
To rest my head,
I feel so tired -
I close my eyes.

It's you I see.
Your arms I feel.
Your words I hear...

My mind's at rest.
My heart's content.
My soul's at peace...

I shed one tear;
Then another flows.
I am so thankful...

Then, suddenly,
I think of a friend
Who's not at peace...

I shed a tear
Yet, a river flows.
Hope is alive -
I close my eyes.
