Norma's Poetry
Tired and Weary

If you're reading this as a human-being (which is the only way you can read it), you've suffered heartbreak in some form or another.

It may have been from a broken relationship/home, a broken dream, losing your job, seeing your child going off to college, while you remain home, or because you see your child, or another person you love, suffering heartbreak.

It may have been caused from learning that you, or someone you love, are ill. Perhaps someone close to you died and you can't seem to pick up the pieces because your grief is too heavy to bear.

Perhaps you have struggles in surviving each and every day. What seems easy for someone else is a challenge for you. People make fun of you or call you names, not in fun, and it wears you down, and breaks your heart.

I wrote this poem for you, but, admittedly, I feel this way too sometimes. It's not always easy to sacrifice your dreams, and desires, to please someone else.

On rougher days, it can be a trial to remember that Jesus stands beside you, waiting for you to reach out to Him. It seems He's nowhere near, but He is, and it's something we always need to remember!!!

Tired and Weary

Sometimes the day
seems, oh, so long.
I'm tired and weary-
can't sing a song.

The moments drag.
The clock does tick
but, deep inside,
I'm feeling sick.

So many questions-
the answers few.
Sometimes I wonder
what I should do...

What I should feel...
Whom I should see...
I'm needing help
so desperately.

I'm tired and weary-
feeling alone;
looking where love
and goodness shone.

It's no longer present-
just a memory.
While I sit here, alone,
needing to feel free.
