Panting Soul
King David used to walk
Upon the earth some time ago.
Although he wasn’t perfect
He sure could write, you know.
David wrote the book of Psalms.
These songs came from his soul.
David danced before the Lord;
To live with God was his goal.
David sought to live forever;
To see the beauty of his God.
He wanted to ask questions
And to the answers, nod.
He desired to dwell with God.
His soul thirsted each day.
God poured His Spirit upon him,
Daily showing him the way.
God made the soil fertile.
Water flooded the dry ground.
He said seeds sown in righteousness
Eternally, were bound.
God poured His Spirit upon man,
Showed him the seeds to sow.
He asked him to be faithful
So his family could grow.
God was thinking of their souls.
He saw needs inside each one.
He promised He would bless them.
He would reveal to them, the Son.
The seed that you sow today
Will be harvested sometime.
When you see its magnitude
Your heart is sure to rhyme.
